What is the VAT rate in Poland?
Current standard VAT rate in Poland is 23%. Reduced rates of 8% and 5% apply to certain goods and services.
How to calculate Polish VAT manually
The standard VAT rate of 23% is easy to calculate. Multiply the VAT-exclusive amount by 0.23.
Value excluding VAT: 50 zł
VAT amount: 50 zł * 0.23 = 11.5 zł
To calculate the VAT-inclusive amount, multiply the VAT-exclusive amount by 1.23.
Value excluding VAT: 20 zł
Value including VAT: 20 zł * 1.23 = 24.6 zł
To find the VAT portion of a VAT-inclusive amount, divide it by 123 and multiply by 23.
Value including VAT: 12.3 zł
VAT value: 12.3 zł / 123 * 23 = 2.3 zł
To calculate the VAT-exclusive amount from a VAT-inclusive amount, divide it by 123 and multiply by 100.
Value including VAT: 123 zł
Value excluding VAT: 123 zł / 123 * 100 = 100 zł
